Research Interests:

I am the geneticist associated with the Multiple Sclerosis & Neuromyelitis Optica and Alzheimer Clinics at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health. My work in these Clinics has resulted in the establishment of British Columbia and Canada-wide clinical genetic/genetic epidemiological databases which are relatively unbiased with respect to genetic factors and are representative of the general population of individuals with these disorders. These databases are used for clinical genetic, genetic epidemiologic and molecular genetic research. The results of the research are clinically applicable, e.g. genetic and reproductive counselling, as well as provide insights into the biology and natural history of these common, complex disorders.
